To visit the very popular rock formation temple in Tanah Lot, you need to leave in the morning to avoid the crowds.

1. Tanah Lot Temple (Pura Tanah Lot):

Pura Tanah Lot is located on a large offshore rock and has been shaped continuously throughout the years by the strong ocean tide. It is believed to be built in the 16th century by Dang Hyang Nirartha, who felt that this was the appropriate place to build a shrine as a holy place to worship the Balinese sea Gods.

At the bottom of the rock, it is believed that venomous sea snakes that are guarding the temple from evil spirits and intruders. Also, there is supposedly a giant snake created from Nirartha’s sash (selendang) when he established the temple.

For centuries, this temple has been a part of the Balinese mythology and the teachings of Hindu. Up to this day, people in the area still observe and perform their religious ceremonies and activities.

After the long walk to and from the temple, it might be worthwhile to stop by one of the cafes and have a rest while enjoying fresh coconut drink.

2. An early afternoon in Canggu Club

If you are travelling with smaller children, it would be worth visiting Canggu Club, the island’s premier entertainment and sporting venue. You can also enjoy a good lunch either in their restaurant or by their olympic size pool.

After a nice lunch and early afternoon activities in Canggu Club, head out to Berawa beach (pantai Berawa) for a lazy remainder of the afternoon on the beach. The club also has a 30-meter infinity edge pool with swim up pool bar. 

The striking bamboo material that makes up this club guarantees every guest from inside a sunset view. There are also day beds that faces the ocean. Guests can order from a long list of cocktails while waiting for the sunset.

4. Dinner in Echo Beach Club Restaurant

After enjoying cocktails and watching the sunset, about a 20-minute drive from Finn’s beach club is the Echo Beach Club. Here, you can choose from a variety of fresh seafood, where the staff barbeque for you on the spot at very reasonable prices. You should bring your own wine.
