Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

This is the final resting place of former President Ho Chi Minh. The building that was built in 1975, inspired by Lenin’s Mausoleum in Moscow. Born in Hanoi in 1890, Ho Chi Minh was educated in France and spent time in China and Russia. He was exiled for 30 years. He led independence movement from France and was the Communist Party revolutionary leader, as well as Prime Minister and President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam up to 1965, when he stepped down because of poor health. He died in 1969 and his embalmed body is on display in the mausoleum and frequently visited by Vietnamese all over the country.
