Arrow Tower (Jian Lou)

Situated in the south of Tiananmen Square, this ancient building was built during the Ming Dynasty around 1439. It is 38 metres tall and has 94 windows that were used or shooting arrows. This tower, together with the smaller one right across called Qian Men, were both built to act as a double gate.
