Pink Beach

On the northeast side of Komodo you can find the famous Pink Beach. It is only a 15-minute boat journey from Komodo’s entry point, Loh Liang. There are only seven beaches in the world that exhibit this colour. The sand is pink because it is a mix of white sand combined with red coral. An amoeba microscopic animal, foraminifera, produces the red or pink light on the reef.

It is the perfect place to just relax and lie on the beach because the sand is so smooth and the water is clean.

It is also the perfect place to snorkel because the coral reefs are so healthy and colourful.
