Limassol Archaeological Museum

Originally part of Limassol Castle, the Limassol Archaeological museum was founded in 1948 and is home to a vastly rich and notable collection of antiquities from the Neolithic age to the Roman era. They were discovered and excavated from the many archaeological sites in the region.

This museum is divided into three exhibitions: pottery from various historical periods; coins, jewellery, lamps and a variety of copper tools and objects; and sculptures, tombstones, capitals, inscriptions and other limestone and marble objects. It is worth visiting and preferably prior to seeing the archaeological sites to give you a brief historical idea about the country and its ancient sites.
